The city of Hatra is one of the famous cities of ancient Iraq (139 BC-226 AD). It was a capital that became an important center of trade and religion and was also a military center. Hatra is well known for it's impressive architecture, it's massive temples and well-build walls surrounding the circular city. The kings of Hatra were known as Arab kings, the most famous kings were perhaps Sanatruq I, Aben-Nasro and Abd-Sema. Hatra was well known as an important caravan city on an important ancient trade route.
